about
Vanessa Ngoma | Founder Nkento
The launch of Nkento was sparked by a personal need.
As a professional - and a working student, Vanessa noticed the lack of role model visibility within her community. She created Nkento to find and highlight role models in different career paths that would inspire a younger generation and to connect globally professional women from every field.
Vanessa has spent the past 4 years of her working experience as a Social Legal Advisor focusing on social security legislation and the improvement of the social status of the self-employed entrepreneurs from the start until after retirement - thus contributing to their social and economic well-being.
With an educational background in Economics and Languages, Business Management and a specialization in Legal Practice she mastered the skill of listening and working with people from all walks of life and providing them with legal advice and assistance.
Her mission? To empower women and provide them with access to the tools and resources needed to create a better life for themselves and their families. Nkento is created to increase the visibility of Congolese women entrepreneurs and professionals, to help Congolese owned businesses around the world gain the exposure and resources they deserve. Vanessa recognized the importance of seeing people that look like you in the roles that you aspire to hold. A mentor and role model allows us to see what is possible out there. These people in our lives have an incredible impact, representation truly changes how we view ourselves.
Everyone should be able to find opportunities that help you get to where you want to go. Therefore she is dedicated to advance youth leadership, in giving them the right tools so they can take full control of their future. Vanessa is a fierce advocate for social justice, women empowerment and ownership within the African continent.
''We are all blessed with different talents and capabilities but we need equal opportunities for all. Every individual needs to be given a fair chance to reach their full potential''.
